Library Computer Facilities

Computer workstations are available in the library for use by currently enrolled South West TAFE students and staff.

NOTE: You must have your current South West TAFE Username and Password in order to log on to the computers. You should have been given these details upon enrolment. If not, please see Customer Service.

Workstations provide access to the Internet, printing and a range of computer programs including:

  • Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Illustrator, Dreamweaver, InDesign)
  • Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint)
  • MYOB Accounting

Wi-Fi

Currently enrolled students and staff can connect their own devices to the SWTAFE Wireless Internet network.

Please see Library staff or Customer Service staff for instructions on how to connect.

Laptop Computers

Laptops are available for overnight or weekend loan. No bookings allowed.

NOTE: you must have your current South West TAFE Student ID Card to borrow laptops. No exceptions.

Reset Your Password

If at any time you forget your password, or become locked out of your account, Library staff or Customer Services staff can reset it for you. You will need to have your current SWTAFE Student ID card to verify enrolment/identity.

File Saving

For privacy purposes, the library computers are set to wipe clean upon restart. For this reason it is important not to save files or documents to the local hard drive.

A safer alternative way of saving is:

  1. Save a copy to a USB Flash drive (bring your own or purchase one from the Bookshop).
  2. Save a 2nd or "backup" copy to your M: drive. The M: drive on the computer is your personalised drive that can be accessed on any computer within the SWTAFE computer network. Ask library staff if you need help locating your M: drive.
