Borrow from other campuses

As a South West TAFE Student, you are entitled to borrow from all of the South West TAFE campus libraries--Warrnambool, Portland, Hamilton, and Sherwood Park. To see what resources are available across all campuses, you will need to search the online library catalogue.

Search the library catalogue

Each item will list the location. For any items located in Warrnambool, Portland and Hamilton, you can place a hold to have the item delivered to your campus.

To Place a Hold on an Item (Borrow from another campus)

You will need to login to your Library Account.

  • Your user ID is the number on your student card.
  • Your Library PIN is your date of birth. ie: day, month, and year (DDMMYYYY)

After you search the catalogue, and click on the item you would like to borrow, click on "Place hold" (located underneath the cover image). Complete the form and the information will be forwarded to library staff who will locate the item and have it delivered to your campus.

Alternatively, you can contact the library at library@swtafe.edu.au or 03 5564 8956 to arrange items to be sent over.

Wi-Fi Laptop Computers Reset Your Password File Saving

Currently enrolled students and staff can connect their own devices to the SWTAFE Wireless Internet network.

Please Customer Service staff for instructions on how to connect.

Laptops are available for overnight or weekend loan. No bookings allowed.

NOTE: you must have your current South West TAFE Student ID Card to borrow laptops.
If at any time you forget your password, or become locked out of your account, Customer Service staff can reset it for you. You will need to have your current SWTAFE Student ID card to verify enrolment/identity.

For privacy purposes, the library computers are set to wipe clean upon restart. For this reason it is important not to save files or documents to the local hard drive.

A safer alternative way of saving is:

  1. Save a copy to a USB Flash drive.
  2. Save a 2nd or "backup" copy to your M: drive. The M: drive on the computer is your personalised drive that can be accessed on any computer within the SWTAFE computer network. Ask your teacher or Customer Service staff if you need help locating your M: drive.

Printing

All South West TAFE Students are given $10 of print credit upon enrolment. Please see the Library's Guide to Printing, Scanning & Photocopying for more information.
